The 2006 Melges 24 North American Championship will be hosted by the Santa Cruz Yacht Club on Monterey Bay, California. Registration for the event will open on Tuesday 16 May with ten championship races scheduled between Thursday 18 and Sunday 21 May.
The final results tally in the Melges 24 fleet at this years Acura Miami Race Week bore witness to the truly international nature of the class. The top six places were made up of entries from Italy, United Kingdom, USA and Germany.

Riccardo Simoneschi from Italy is 2006 Melges 24 ACURA Miami Race Week Champion again! Simoneschi won last year making him a back-to-back winner. This year the Melges 24 fleet was the second largest in attendance at twenty-five.
