From Event Press Officer Rich Roberts - SANTA CRUZ, Calif.---Now that they've seen a smorgasbord of what Monterey Bay has to offer, the 58 competitors will catch their breath Monday before plunging into the 2007 Fullpower Melges 24 World Championship, hosted by the Santa Cruz Yacht Club.

Here in Santa Cruz the sun is shining and there's a great breeze blowing at around 22 knots with occasional stronger gusts (we've had to get the paper weights out in the press office!).

Since the introduction of the new IMCA Class Rule governing hiking class officials have been watching the new rule in action. As the rule was tried we found that it did not quite cover our needs so a new wording has been agreed with ISAF and is now in force.
