17 teams coming from 5 nations (AUT, SUI, GER, CZE & SLO) met over the ascension day weekend at Traunsee to sail the 3rd Austrian Open. The International Melges24 class was invited to be part of the BMW Allianz Traunsee Sailing Week the most important sailing event in the Alps area.

Sunny Queensland and day one started with rain, overcast skies and about 3 knots of breeze, East /South East . The start boat managed to get races away on time even though a delay looked possible. As the rain eased the breeze filled in to 6-8 knots for the afternoon.
