INTRODUCTION - Sixteen national and international officers of the IMCA attended the 2002 IMCA World Council AGM, held during the World Championship in Travemuende.

Yesterday Tom Freytag won the Audi sponsored US Melges 24 Gold Cup with a race to spare just as he had the Melges 24 US Nationals only a few weeks ago.

Three more great races were completed yesterday at the Audi Melges 24 Gold Cup in San Francisco. Tom Freytag displayed stunningly consistent form to take second place in all three races leaving him with a total of 8 points to count overall after the discard came into play.

Yesterday's Audi Melges 24 Gold Cup opening day was a cracker with three great races being completed in excellent conditions.

Today sees the start of the Audi sponsored US Gold Cup at the St Francis Yacht Club in San Francisco. With 26 of the top sailors including Brian Porter, Argyle Campbell, Tom Freytag, Don Jesberg, Philippe Kahn and Bruce Ayres competing it promises to be a fantastic regatta.

Tom Freytag and Keith Musto were the inaugural Chairman and Secretary/Treasurer respectively of the International Melges 24 Class Association and have worked tirelessly on behalf of the International Class since it's creation half a decade ago.
