The International Melges 24 Class Association and Premiere Racing are very pleased to announce that they have reached agreement for the hosting of the Melges 24 World Championship 2001 within Terra Nova Trading / Yachting Key West Race Week.
The great news is that we will be making a formal announcement about the Melges 24 Worlds tomorrow. We are just finalising the release wording with Premiere Racing and sorting out our joint press circulation lists and the word will be out.
For those of you looking to get in some last minute practise before the Worlds here are two perfect events coming up. The first is the ANNAPOLIS FALL FLAIL on October 13 and 14 to be hosted by the Eastport Yacht Club.
We really are getting very close to agreement with Premiere Racing now and hope to have a final announcement for you about hosting the Melges 24 Worlds at Key West Race Week by Wednesday.
Whilst I am not renowned for my starting line expertise I have never missed a race in which I intended to start. That was until the Gold Cup regatta at Lake Geneva in September 2001. I started my travel program from our home in Essex, England at 6.45am on the 11 September 2001.
