Full Throttle peaks for Fullpower Melges 24 Worlds - From Event Press Officer Rich Roberts, SANTA CRUZ, Calif.---Perhaps nobody has been sailing a Melges 24 longer than Brian Porter and few have sailed one as well, which may mean he is overdue approaching the 2007 Fullpower Melges 24 World Champions
Since the introduction of the new IMCA Class Rule governing hiking class officials have been watching the new rule in action. As the rule was tried we found that it did not quite cover our needs so a new wording has been agreed with ISAF and is now in force.
The Estonian and Finnish Open Championships are in 2 months and give a unique oppportunity as follows:- 1) put the boat on a ferrry to Finland and we tow it to the Estonian Championships (in Prnu Estonia from the 16th to 17th of June) 2) after the competitions you fly back and we tow the boat to Hel
The Swiss Melges 24 Class is going from strength to strength and is now ready to form an independent Class Association.
The German Melges 24 Cup will take place from 17-19 May at Tutzing on Germany's Lake Starnberg. This regatta is being included for the first time included in Volkswagen Sail & Drive Championship which will help give additional media exposure to the Melges 24 in Germany.
