Here in Porto Cervo at the Volvo Melges 24 Worlds its 1130, the sun is starting to break through and the Race Committee have sent the competitors out to the race area where Hank Stuart, PRO on race course B, and Peter Reggio (pictured), PRO on race course A, are getting set up.
Porto Cervo, 2 June 2008 - There was no racing today at the Volvo Melges 24 World Championship hosted by the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda in Porto Cervo.
For those of you who speak German IMCA Chairman and German Class Secretary Guenter Tzeschlock is providing a daily blog from the Volvo Melges 24 World Championships in Porto Cervo.
Its 1515 and the Race Committee just posted AP over N indicating no more racing today. We'll have a daily report for you shortly but that's it for now.

Its 1425 and the Race Committee has decided to send the fleets from both courses back ashore to await further instructions. There's still no wind in the race area and with a hot sun beating down it was felt safest to get the crews back to harbour before sunstroke and dehydration started to set in.
