The French Melges 24 National Championship is returning to DINARD after the very successful and memorable Championship there in September 1999 Dinard is the place where the French fleet was born in December 1996 with the delivery of the first 3 Melges 24s - among them ZIG ZAG 13.
The rapid increase in interest and awareness of the Melges 24 is having a very positive effect on the existing Japanese Melges 24 Class Association which is experiencing a resurgence of interest.
The Grand Prix Petit Navire team is delighted to welcome for the first time the Melges 24 class to our competition. For eight years, the Grand Prix has included regattas involving Dragons, Windsurfers, Kitesurfers and Open 7,50.
The Class Rule Changes agreed at the IMCA World Council AGM in 2006 have now been ratified by ISAF and came into force on 1st January including the new rule governing hiking.
