It is with great sadness that we must report that Italian Class President Franco Maria Rao died suddenly on Saturday afternoon, 10 November 2008. He was sailing in a local winter championship regatta in his Finn when he collapsed in his boat during a windward leg.

I'm afraid we haven't yet received any further reports from the Novembre a Hyeres Regatta but the club has now updated the results page so I'm delighted to be able to tell you that the regatta was won by Italy's Lorenzo Bressani's UKA UKA helmed by Francisco Bruni.

From the French Class Association - The COYCHs staff , 2 Commitee Presidents Mr John Coveney and Mr Guy Guermond, an International President for the Jury, Mr Bellaguet, Mr Bujeaud for the measurment and more than 50 volunteers from the COYCH were grouped to organize this championship.

The latest placed from which we have news of the speading Melges 24 word is the Caribbean Island of Guadaloupe where Melges 24 FRA612 CARAIBE GREMENT, owned by Philippe Leconte, was victorious in this past weekend's Triskell Cup.

From the French Class Association - The 2007 Novembre a Hyeres event got underway on France's Cote D'Azure yesterday and in the first race of the four day series Italy showed its intentions for worldwide domination in 2008.
