Melges 24s Shine at St. Maarten Heineken Regatta
Four Melges 24s competed in last week's St Maarten Heineken Regatta and put in an outstanding performance to take 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 8th place racing under the local handicap system in Spinnaker Class 5. The Melges 24 rates well under almost all handicap systems and this result yet again shows that the boat is a great club and handicap racer as well as one of the World's leading one design classes.
Our congratulations to the crews of Caraibe Greement Martinique, owned by Philippe Leconte; Budget Marine, owned by Andrea Scarabelli; Pelican Marine Residencies, owned by Fritz Bus and Peter Houtzager; and French Connection, owned by Didier Roualt. The crews all enjoyed a fantastic week of sailing in this legendary Caribbean regatta and invite other Melges 24 crews to join them for more fun in the sun at the 2009 event.
