Please note that Notice Of Race Ammendment No 1 for the 2009 Melges 24 European Championship has now been published at the event web site. This change ammends the time of the first start for the practise races on Sunday 23rd August and the first day of racing on Monday 24th August to 1300.
A few years ago Norwegian sailors Stian Briseid and Marius Falch Orvin established an all amateur Melges 24 team with the goal of challenging for the Corinthian World Championship.
Most Melges 24 owners will have at some time considered sponsorship as a potential means of offsetting the cost of campaigning their boat on the regatta circuit. Indeed on the US and European circuits, hulls and sails displaying sponsors decals are a familiar site these days.
The Nordic Melges 24 Classes invite you to join them for a great regatta and an excellent chance to practice on the same waters as the Worlds 2010. The 2009 Melges24 Nordic Championship will be held from the 31st of July to the 2nd of August in Tallinn, Estonia.
Zuxu EST791 helmed by Peter Saraskin wins also ranking 2 in front of Helsinki. Midnight Sun Sailing One FIN529 helmed by Sami Ekblad and Betfair FIN742 helmedby Tomi Hakolahad a tight dual for second place. MSS One took silver with just one point seperating them to Betfair.
The weekend of 15th -17th May saw St Peter Port, Guernsey in the UK's Channel Islands, play host to the 2009 Channel Island Championship. As boats arrived and set up for the regatta the sky was blue and the scene picturesque.
Incredible weekend behind! The 10th Finnish Melges 24 ranking season started in style. A record breaking 18 boats were competing in Naantali (south western Finland). Naantali is known as the sunny town and no the city didnt give a disappointment.
