Tom Freytag and Keith Musto were the inaugural Chairman and Secretary/Treasurer respectively of the International Melges 24 Class Association and have worked tirelessly on behalf of the International Class since it's creation half a decade ago.

Following the IMCA AGM at the recent World Championship in Travemuende a new Executive Committee has been appointed to manage to day to day affairs of the International Melges 24 Class Association.

Harry Melges has today confirmed that negoations for a new European builder of the Melges 24 are well under way and that he hopes to have a builder in place and production underway by the end of this year.

After a fantastically well fought nine event series Britain's Jamie Lea has won the 2002 European Ranking by just 6.5 points. The battle for second through fourth place was extremely tight with just 1.5 points separating the three boats.

The Yacht Club of France, in association with the French Sailing Federation (FFV) and the Melges 24 Class, are pleased to announce the revival of the COUPE DE FRANCE. The Cup was raced for the first time in Brest in 1891 and for the last time last time in Bnodet in 1992.
