From Event Press Officer Rich Roberts - SANTA CRUZ, Calif.---The 2007 Fullpower Melges 24 World Championship, hosted by the Santa Cruz Yacht Club, starts five days of competition Tuesday amid some intriguing confusion about the conditions and the competition.

From Event Press Officer Rich Roberts - SANTA CRUZ, Calif.---Now that they've seen a smorgasbord of what Monterey Bay has to offer, the 58 competitors will catch their breath Monday before plunging into the 2007 Fullpower Melges 24 World Championship, hosted by the Santa Cruz Yacht Club.

In addition to our official photographer Paul Todd we've also got local photographer Tom Barrett out on the water each day and he is kindly supplying us images for our web gallery.

Despite the fact that the press boat broke down and had to be towed home the second day of the Pre-Worlds here in Santa Cruz brought more great racing and more great photos from IMCA Official Photographer Paul Todd. Check out the latest images in PAUL'S IMCA GALLERY.

Here in Santa Cruz the sun is shining and there's a great breeze blowing at around 22 knots with occasional stronger gusts (we've had to get the paper weights out in the press office!).
