From the Australian Melges 24 Class - Day one of the seven race series, held over the Australia Day long weekend in Geelong. Clear blue skies, wind strength of 5-10 knots NE and the fleet of 21 Sportsboats including 6 Melges 24s were on water buzzing in anticipation prior to the first heat.

The first ever Australian Melges 24 National Championship is now underway in association with Skandia Geelong Week near Melbourne, Australia. Six Australian Melges 24 teams are battling it out for the right to call themselves the first ever Australian Melges 24 Champions.

Key West, Florida - Despite an initial postponement at ACURA Key West 2008 presented by Nautica, the Melges 24 fleet conducted racing during the late afternoon hours on Thursday enabling two additional heats to be added to the bag.
