Pusser's Painkiller Wipeout of the Day

One of the fun new innovations at last week's North American Championship was the introduction of the Pusser's Painkiller Wipeout Award. Sponsored by Pusser's Rum these awards were giving to the four teams that achieved the most spectacular wipeouts during the four day regatta.

The awards were presented at Saturday nights final prize giving by Jamie Jackson of Pusser's Rum with each of our winners going home with a fantastic Pusser's Painkiller Emergency Rescue Pack.

Three out of the four wipeout awards were given for spectacular sailing broaches with USA606 Jim Golden, USA640 Vincent Porter and USA679 Othmar Von Blumencron and their crews all facing much ribbing from their fellow competitors as they came up to the stage to accept their awards. Mistress of Ceremonies Laura Muma then explained to the assembled audience that in the true spirit of the "wipeout" award it had been decided by our secret judging panel that the final award should be presented to Greg McCliment and the crew of USA570 who achieved what was universally agreed to be the most spectacular shoreside "wipeout" of the event. Details of their award winning performance cannot be fully reported here but surfice it to say that the entire team took Annapolis by storm in full fancy dress on Halloween enthusiastically spreading the Pusser's Rum word far and wide!
