The scene is set for a showdown of biblical proportions when the best one-design sportsboat sailors from across the US and Europe finally square up to each other at the2009 Melges 24 World Championshipin Annapolis, MD next month.
From 24th to 27th September Yacht Club Portoroz and Marina Portoroz hosted 13 crews from Austria, Croatia, Hungary, Italy, Switzerland and Slovenia on 2nd Slovenian Open National Championship of class Melges 24. Races were held in front of Piran with NE (Bora) winds.

The Open Norwegian National Championships were held in gardstrand, just 70 km south of Oslo in tricky waters, over the weekend 11-13th September. Conditions were varied over the 3 days and appeared to be similar to what we can expect next year in Tallin, Estonia.
There's just a week left to go until the close of standard rate entries for the 2009 Melges 24 World Championship in Annapolis (23-31 October). 23 September is the final day when standard rate entries will be accepted.
