28 Melges 24 teams from 9 different countries found their way to the Kieler Woche – the biggest sailing event in the world. For the Melges 24 class the Kiel Week was the 3rd event of the Melges 24 European Sailing Series 2014 where the teams were picking points to their current rankings.
Since the introduction of the Melges 24 class in Norway the last week of June there has been racing at the Island of Hankø. For several years this has been the venue for the Norwegian National championships.
The 3rd Melges 24 European Sailing Series event starts tomorrow, June 21st in Kiel, Germany. On the entry list of the Kieler Woche are 29 boats from 8 different nations – CZE – 1, DEN – 8, GBR – 1, GER – 12, ITA – 2, LIE -1, NED – 2, SUI – 1 and UKR – 1.
