Just two points separate 2011 and 2010 Charleston Champions going into final day of racing.
Despite forecasts for light and unsteady wind, the first day of the 2012 Melges 24 Gold Cup at Charleston Race Week dawned with a nice 8-10 knot Northerly breeze. It was more than enough for PRO Hank Stuart, who knocked off 4 action-filled races in less than four hours with wind from 8-15 knots.
Tomi Hakola brings us a quick report and some photos from day two of the Melges 24 Aarhus Spring Cup in Denmark. Day 2 wrapped up - beer, sausages and results:-) On the race course the wind was mainly from SE with a velocity of 3 - 5 m/s.
In 2012, the U.S. Melges 24 Class celebrates another Gold Cup Championship, this time held in conjunction with Sperry Top-Sider Charleston Race Week. More than thirty teams from across the U.S.A.
We are urgently seeking charter boats for the Melges 24 North American Championship in San Francisco (22-26 August 2012). We have several teams interested, in particular some teams from the new Melges 24 fleet in Chile who are really keen to get involved on the international circuit.
