The question of fairing is often raised and a definition asked for. It is always difficult to be precise andcommon sense must be applied. This is the reason that a measurer should always be involved.
The International Melges 24 Class and also National Melges 24 Class Associations are always happyto receive trophies for various races. However, without in anyway being ungrateful we would ask you to bear in mind a few points. 1.
Dear Melges24 sailors, The German Class Association (Ulli Strosek / Gnter Tzeschlock) met on 17th April 2002 the organisation team for the Worlds 2002. We held a meeting with Dr. Claus-Dieter Stoltze, the managing director of the hosting Lbecker Yacht Club.
The German Class have now posted some snap shots from the Melges 24 Worlds in Travemunede on their website. You can also e-mail Official Melges 24 Photographer Pierrick Contin for copies of the official photographs from the event.
We have a serious problem to address. It concerns the whole Class and we need your help to solve it! The image of our Class is highly respected amongst race sailors.
April 6, 2002 -Annapolis, Maryland USA - With a scoreline of six firsts and two seconds Harry Melges, helming for Jeff Ecklund, won the 2002 Melges 24 North American Championships with a race to spare.
