The final day of the Melges 24 Volvo Cup in Scarlino brought a complete change of conditions on the Gulf of Follonica with strong offshore winds of 30+ knots, big seas and one final and utterly spectacular race - the sixth of the series.

The second event in the 2010 Melges 24 Italian Volvo Cup series got off to a great start yesterday with the 63 Registered Teamsenjoying two great races in light to moderate airs and glorious sunshine.
ISAF has advised us that - On 1 April 2010 Group 2 was eliminated from the ISAF Classification Code and only Group 1 and 3 Classifications will now be used. At the beginning of the year there were less than 500 Group 2 sailors.
