The second event in the 2010 Melges 24 Italian Volvo Cup series got off to a great start yesterday with the 63 Registered Teamsenjoying two great races in light to moderate airs and glorious sunshine.
ISAF has advised us that - On 1 April 2010 Group 2 was eliminated from the ISAF Classification Code and only Group 1 and 3 Classifications will now be used. At the beginning of the year there were less than 500 Group 2 sailors.
The second of the 2010 Melges 24 Volvo Cup series gets underway today in Scarlino, Tuscany and once again Sailfever will be providing great video footage direct from the race course and all the results and reports will be posted at www.melges24.it.

The USMCA has recently conducted elections to appoint a newslate of officers to serve as its Executive Committee for 2010-2011. Steve Kopf will be President, Paul Hulsey will serve as Vice President, Chris Farkas will be Treasurer, Andre Peixoto will be Secretary and J.A.
The 2010 European Melges 24 season got off to a flying start in Sanremo, Italy last weekend at the opening event of the 2010 Melges 24 Volvo Cup series. With 55 boats from 15 nations competing in the three days regatta it was a sign of great things to come this year.
