19 boats from 7 nations (6 x SLO, 5 x AUT. 4 x HUN and 1 x CZE. ITA, SVK & GER) showed up at the Open Slovenian Championship 2010 sailed on the waters of Porto Roz. Friday was perfect to reminisce on a great season 2010 during the long and dark winter months.
The Prince Alfred YC may have cancelled racing on the Saturday of last weekend's Australian East Coast Championship but that didn't stop the Melges 24 sailors going out and enjoying some amazing conditions on the harbour.
Forecast Fifteen to twenty knots of breeze should provide some spectacular racing for day one of the Melges 24 and Melges 32 East Coast Championships this Saturday.
From 01. - 03. October the Swiss Melges24 Class held their Swiss Open at Luino, Lago Maggiore.The idea to organize a joint event “Coppa Lino Favini” “Swiss Open 2010” was very well accepted by the sailors which has been proved by a record entry of 32 teams.
In autumn, Lake Balaton can throw anything at you. For the first Hungarian Open Melges 24 Championship, the fleet was gently eased into the regatta with a 6-7 knot breeze. The next 2 days around 8 to 10 knots were provided to test the crews commitment to hiking.
