The Melges 24 International season is now well underway and as most owners have finalised their teams and campaigns for the year ahead, we thought it would be a good time to have a look at who the potential star names might be in 2009.

Like New York the city that never sleeps' the International Melges 24 has a regatta circuit that never really stops.

Congratulations to Tampa, Florida's James Whatmore on Goux Get Moma, 2009 Melges 24 Porsche Cup of Naples Champion. He is also the winner of the Porsche Cup of Naples Perpetual Trophy winner as well. The Porsche Cup was event number four of thirty nationwide regattas on the 2009 SLAM U.S.

There are just two weeks to go until the start of the 2009 Melges 24 European Ranking Series which opens with the classic SNIM Regatta in Marseille, South of France over the Easter Weekend from 10-13 April.
