As the International Melges 24 works its way up to the 2009 World Championship (October 23-November 1), 21 competing teams considered the Annapolis NOOD a formal dress rehearsal. Reigning kings of the Melges 24 remain supreme.
The final day of racing at the Melges 24 Volvo Cup in Puntal Ala, Italy, brought a complete change in the weather again as crews battled strong and increasing windsto complete the final three races of the eight race series.
Sail Port Stephens played host to the second Melges 24 National Titles over the Anzac Day weekend. Competitors from WA, VIC, QLD and NSW arrived at Nelson Bay on the Wednesday and Thursday prior to the regatta to rig boats and set up their crews and families at Melges HQ.
The April 18th was a beautiful day at Lake Balaton in Hungary. The growing Hungarian Melges 24fleet came together and shared their experience and showed the boat sailing to those who don't (yet) have a Melges 24.
The sun came out again for thesecond day of racing at the Italian Volvo Cup in Punta Ala and the sailors enjoyed blue skies, winds of 7 - 12 knots and three exciting and challenging races.
