Worlds Update - FRIDAY 28 September 2001
28 SEPTEMBER 2001 What a week! Firstly a huge thank you to everyone who has contributed views, advice, opinions and offers of help over the last four days. Your contributions have all been appreciated and if anyone else thinks they can help us with Jury or Press boat loan, cash or kind contributions, party hosting, etc, please E-mail me.
Today we've really been getting down to the nitty gritty to be sure that all the important issues are addressed and clarified before we make a final announcement early next week. We've been lucking in getting great input from both the class and lots of past and present Melges Worlds and Key West race officials. Premiere Racing and Peter Craig are really putting in a huge effort on our behalf and out thanks must go to the entire Premiere team.
We've all been so focused on the Worlds this week that the impending Atlantic Coast Championships, to be held at the Florida Yacht Club in Jacksonville from October 20 and 21, has been rather overshadowed. This is going to be a great event with some big names warming up for the forthcoming Worlds and we'll bring you a full preview early next week.
Work on the Worlds will continue over the weekend and I'll bring you another formal update on Monday.
