SEBASTIAN COL LEADS WORLD RANKING WITH THREE EVENTS TO GO
With just three events left to go in the Melges 24 World Ranking Series, Frenchman Sebastien Col, helming Phillip Ligot's P&P, leads the World Ranking by just 3 points from Flavio Favini, helming for Switzerland's Franco Rossini. America's Shark Kahn is lying in third place ahead of Kenneth Thelen from Finland, who also heads up the Corinthian (amateur) ranking, Luca Santella (ITA), helming for Giovani Maspero, Kristian Nergaard (NOR) and John Pollard (GBR).
In the North American Ranking it's currently a Kahn family benefit with Shark leading his father Philippe by just 2 points. Ryan Hamm is currently one point behind in third place with Travis Weisleder fourth, Pepe Parsons fifth, Neil Sullivan sixth and John Pollard of the UK in seventh.
Flavio Favini heads the leaderboard in the European Ranking by 3.5 points from Maurizio Abba with Kenneth Thelen third, Luca Santella fourth, fellow Italian Andrea Racchelli fifth Finland's Petri Karto sixth and Kristian Nergaard seventh.
The final three events in the series are the Norwegian Championship (5-7 Sept, Asgarstrand, Norway), the French Championship (22-26 Sept, Lorient, France) and finally the North American Championship (24-26 Sept, Detroit, MI), which carries bonus 25% points.
