Sailing Called Off Because of Strong Winds in Hyeres

At 4pm the Race Committee was forced to call off racing for today here at the Worlds in Hyeres because of strong winds. It has been blowing a steady 35 knots here all afternoon with occasional big gusts on top of that. They have also announced that the start of racing tomorrow is brought forward to 10am although the forecast is for continuing strong winds so it's possible we may not race tomorrow either.

So far 4 races have been completed in the initial round robin series to decide the gold and silver fleets. Once all six of the round robin races are sailed we will also have completed the minimum number of races for a championship. The regatta continues until Friday and the race committee have the option to run 3 races a day if conditions permit.
