Musto Melges 24 Australian Championships 2018 - February 19 -23
February 7, 2018 - Port Lincoln, Australia - Less than ten days until the MUSTO 2018 Melges 24 Australian Titles to be held in Port Lincoln on February 19-23. This year Musto is the generous major sponsor of the 2018 Melges 24 Australian Titles, which will be a part of the Teakle Lincoln Race Week.

Once you have reached the destination of Port Lincoln you will be treated to the famous country hospitality the city of Port Lincoln has become known for. With the whole city getting behind the event you will have the opportunity to sample amazing seafood fresh from the area, local wines and pristine coastal scenery. Andy Dyer, Chairman Lincoln Week Committee said that they are proud to be able to hold the 2018 MUSTO Melges 24 Nationals as part of the Teakle Lincoln Week Regatta. 'We have worked really hard with the Melges Association to have these titles here as we are sure the waters of Boston Bay will be a great place to sail these high performance, one design sports boats. With the expectation of between 10 and 15 entries this will only add to the great atmosphere that is the Lincoln Week Regatta. Once again our faithful sponsors, Peter Teakle, the Port Lincoln Hotel, the Marina Hotel, Commonwealth Private Banking, Sarins and all our Regatta daily sponsors have helped us to create what should be a great event.
Melges 24 teams are very much expected to join in on the music, food and dancing festivities of the keelboat passage race presentation on Sunday afternoon. Registration and weigh-in are on Monday with time for a practice sail. Racing starts on Tuesday. The famous Meggas BBQ out in the Port Lincoln national park on Wednesday after morning racing is a must and the Melges fleet will be a part of this iconic party with a bus taking us there after our racing to enjoy the afternoon, then come back on the bus or maybe jump on one of the keelboats to come home across the bay.
Racing on Thursday and Friday. Pack up Friday afternoon, Melges presentation night at the Port Lincoln Yacht Club Friday evening and drive home over the weekend. After racing on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, the entire regatta fleet enjoys a few cold ones at the Marina Hotel and you may be lucky enough to win a cray or wine, there are lots of prizes in Lincoln Week. We think this event will give you the very best of Melges life with fabulous racing conditions on Boston Bay, socialising and time to make the most of your Nationals adventure.
As a tune-up regatta of the AUS Nationals the South Australian State Titles will take place at the same venue this upcoming weekend, February 9-11.
