Melges 24s to Line Up in San Francisco for the Pacific Coast Championship

San Francisco, California, 11 August 2011 -- With sixteen Melges 24s already registered or confirmed, next Friday's San Francisco Melges Race Week at the San Francisco Yacht Club is slated to be the largest gathering of Melges 24s in California in several years. Melges California Cup 2010 winners Tony Beale and Mike Roberts of San Diego, will be on hand to defend their title at what doubles as this year's Pacific Coast Championship for the Class.

"We've had 24 teams participate this year in the Melges California Cup," remarked, Christopher Farkas, California Cup Co-Founder and US Melges 24 Class Treasurer, "more than half of whom, traveled to multiple regattas in the Series."

"We continue to work hard to refine the events, listen to our members, and support new owners as they join the Class. The growth we're seeing is its own reward."
