Melges 24s Invited to Race at Palma Vela - 18-22 April

The Palma Vela, organised by the Real Club Nautico de Palma and sponsored by Hublot, has become one of the most glamorous spring regattas in Europe attracting the leading classes including Maxi, TP52, IRC, IMS, the beautiful classic and vintage yachts and an exclusive selection of one-designs. The Melges 24 Class has been invited to compete for the first time in this prestigious regatta which takes place in Palma, Mallorca from 18-22 April.

The Spanish Melges 24 Class has become much more active in recent months and will be supporting the event in force to help showcase the Melges 24 to the Spanish market. Already some of the French teams are committed to joining them and the Spanish Class invites all Melges 24 teams to join them for some fantastic racing and to support them in promoting the Melges 24 to new Spanish sailors.

The regatta combines great racing with fabulous social events in the beautiful Real Club Nautico club house which even has its own swimming pool. The weather in Palma in April typically offers superb sailing conditions with hot sun and good winds. There is a good supply of accommodation at all levels available and the club has some special deals available through its accommodation partners.

Palma Vela fits nicely into the Melges 24 programme between SNIM (6-9 April in Marseille) and the Grand Prix Petit Navire (28 April – 1 May in Douarnenez, France). The club has special transport deals on the Barcelona to Palma ferry.
