Melges 24s Dominate ORC European Championship for Sportsboats

From the Germany Melges 24 Class - Travemuender Woche 2008 also incorporated the 2008 ORC European Championships for Sportsboats and we are delighted to report that the event was completely dominated by the Melges 24 class. Two boats from the Czech Republic signed in and took first and second places. We saw very impressive performance of these teams and the Melges 24 in general.

The winning boat was CZE 663 "Bohemia Express" helmed by Alexandra Tinoco with just 9,0 points. Second was CZE 666 "Radost II" helmed by Milan Hajek with 12,5 points - Sarka Landkammerova from the CZE National Class Association crewed on this boat. The third boat was a MaxFun 25 from NED with already 24,25 points - look at this gap!! (by the way: the MaxFun25 is perhaps the best ever copy of the M24 :-)

9 races were sailed with 2 discards. The wind and waves were excellent again in Lübeck Bay - much better than during Europeans 2007 :-)
