Melges 24 Wins Australian Sports Boat National Championship

Congratulations to Heath Walters and his crew aboard AUS726 Mako Melges on their victory in the 21 boat strong Bundaberg Rum Australian National Sports Boat Championship. Hosted by the Royal Geelong Yacht Club the championship was run in conjunction with Skandia Geelong Week, Australia's largest annual sailing regatta, and attracted 21 entries from a host of different classes as well as custom one off designs. Melges 24s filled three of the top ten places with Australian Class President Heath Townsend and his team in AUS215 What Tha finishing fourth overall and Noel Leigh-Smith sailing Vivace eighth.
