Melges 24 Shines at Skandia Geelong Race Week in Australia

AUS 668 "Melges Asia Pacific" took second place in the Australian Bundaberg Rum Sportsboat Nationals held at Skandia Geelong Race Week, Melbourne, Australia from the 25 – 27 January 2007 over the Australia Day weekend.

Skippered by MD of Melges Asia Pacific Heath Walters and crew Murray Walters, Andrew Stanning and Shane Nairn, the conditions ranged from 5 – 25 knots. The interest and buzz surrounding the new Melges 24 in Australia gained momentum when the guys took both guns on the last day, with boat speed of up to 17 knots securing second place overall.
