Melges 24 Italian Championship - Audi tron Sailing Series Maidollis, Altea and Audi tron marking their way

September 10, 2015 - Trapani, Italy – Day one for the Melges 24 Italian Championship, fourth leg of the Audi tron Sailing Series, event organised by B.Plan Sport&Events in cooperation with Melges Europe. Today the fleet has faced a tricky long wave, result of last night's rain and a light north-northwest breeze that allowed the Race Committe run by  Costanzo Villa to sail three races.

As predicted, leading the fleet we have all  three teams that have scored the most successful results throughout the past seasons: Maidollis (Fracassoli-Bianchi, 1-3-1), Altea (Racchelli-Bonini, 2-1-2) and Audi tron (Simoneschi-Benussi, 3-2-3);

First provisional place for Maidollis, helmed by the already Melges 24 world champion Carlo Fracassoli, that has skillfully managed to curb all overtaking attempts by the world vice champions of Altea, and Audi tron, that has beein leading the class ranking for three seasons.

The top five is completed by Austrian team Pure of Michael Schineis (4-6-4) and Marameo of Marco Calì (5-5-5), already committed in the Melges 32 World Championship and the Audi Melges 20 European Championship.
