Justin Chisholm Reports from the First Volvo Cup

Justin Chisholm brings us another of his great "from the race course reports" from the first Italian Volvo Cup event in Scarlino where the Blu Moon team were victorious - The 2008 Italian Melges 24 circuit got underway this weekend with the first regatta of the Volvo Cup taking place at Scarlino in Tuscany. The M24 world championships will be held in Porto Cervo, Sardinia at the end of May and as a consequence the Melges 24 fleet in Italy is currently at its highest level ever. Most European M24 teams are using the five regatta Volvo Cup series as the basis of their warm up for the worlds so it was no surprise to see a bumper sixty-five boat entry with ten countries represented........
