JUST TWO WEEKS TO GO TILL SNIM
There are just two weeks to go to the SNIM Regatta in Marseille at Easter, which marks the start of the European Ranking Circuit. With over 70 Melges 24s expected to converge on the historic Vieux Port in Marseille on the French Mediterranean coast its all set to be a fantastic opening to the 2003 European Ranking.
Boats are travelling from as far afield as Finland, Scandinavia and the UK with entries already confirmed from Italy, Germany, Belgium, Monaco and across France. Hot favourite remains Britain's Jamie Lea, helming for Britain's Richard Thompson and the Black Seal Team, who have taken this event for the last two seasons running. From Italy both 2001 Melges 24 World Champpion Flavio Favini and the new Joe Fly team with helm Luca Santella will be out to challenge him and as always there will be a very strong French contingent determined to keep the trophy in France.
The melges24.com team will be on site throughout the regatta to bring you all the latest news, views and gossip so watch this space starting Friday 18 April.
