Gulari Wins Line Honors Melges 24 U.S. Nationals 2016
October 9, 2016 - Lake Geneva, WI, United States - The Line Honors 2016 Melges 24 U.S. National Championship concluded today, hosted by the Lake Geneva Yacht Club (LGYC) Forty seven teams traveled to participate from all across North America and around the world to race the U.S. Melges 24 Class Association’s (USMCA) biggest event.
Two races were run today. In first overall, with 33 points, is team West Marine Rigging, skippered by Bora Gulari. Gulari won the first race today, and did not have to sail in the second race. Team Embarr, skippered by Conor Clarke, from Dublin, Ireland, moved into second place overall with a second and sixth place today, finishing the regatta just two points behind Gulari.
In third after the day’s racing is team Monsoon, skippered by Bruce Ayres, with crew Mike Buckley, Jessica Koenig, George Peet, and Jeff Reynolds. They finished with 37 points, just two points out of third place.
