As always the US Nationals is anticipating a great entry. In the build up to the San Francisco Worlds a number of the European teams are travelling to Pensacola to race against the US crews so the competition will be even tighter than usual. For those of you who haven't been there before Pensacola is a fantastic venue on Florida's Gulf Coast so you can keep that winter tan topped up whilst enjoying great sailing!

The Texoma Lakefest Regatta is a new event to the World Ranking circuit and the organisers are pulling out all the stops to make sure it becomes a permanent feature. Run from the Grandpappy Point Marina at Denison, The Lakefest Regatta is one of the most popular multi-class regattas in Texas and as well as offering great sailing the Texan hospitality is legendary so you can expect great food, great bands and some serious socialising too. Alongside the racing the regatta, which is in its 17th year, also does a fantastic job of raising money for a wide range of local children's charities so not only can you enjoy a wonderful weekend on the water but you can help someone less fortunate than you too.

Finally we come to the first event in the European Ranking Series with the SNIM Regatta over the Easter Weekend in Marseille. In recent years this event has become the biggest non-championship event in the International Melges 24 calendar and yet again we are expecting around 80 entries from all over Europe. Based in the historic Vieux Port the racing takes place just off the harbour enabling spectators to watch from ashore. If you haven't already booked your accommodation we recommend you do so asap as hotels are already starting to fill up.

More immediately today sees the start of racing at Acura SORC in Miami so we will bring you a full report from that regatta next week.
