German Ranking 2007 - A Success Story
Although there is still one event to be sailed for the German Ranking we can already confirm the German Ranking 2007 is a success story.
The Europeans 2007 gave the German fleet a massive boost and in the actual ranking we have placed 47 boats which have sailed at least in one of the events. Some of them do just have a guest-status as they are not members of the German Class – but most of them promised to join the class for 2008!!!
Actual leaders are:
1st place: SUI 684 “Sonnenkönig” – Armin Schmid / Hendrik Witzmann – 365,5 pts.
2nd place: SUI 382 „Zero Two“ – Michael Good – 356,4 pts.
3rd place: GER 627 “Rat Pack” – Oliver Schwall – 348,8 pts.
4th place: GER 640 “Ka Nalu Nui” – Günter Tzeschlock – 345,1 pts.
5th place: GER 320 “Unsponsored” – Christof Wieland – 344,4 pts.
For next year there will be a slightly change in the system – instead of 11 events counting like in 2007 – only 5 events will count for the ranking. The organizing German Class Association expects more boats per event and this proposal has been made during the classes annual meeting and was confirmed by the majority.
Additionally the class will change from the IMCA counting to the official DSV system to get a chance to have the ranking accepted by Deutscher Segler Verband.
The dates will be published quite soon and foreign competitors are invited to join us in our events.
“Stay tuned” for more news on this matter.
