FOLLOW THE NORDICS LIVE!

On Friday the 31st of July the 3rd Melges 24 Open Nordic Championship will start in Tallinn Estonia! This race is only 1 year prior to the 2010 Melges 24 World Championships held in the same place – www.worlds2010.fi .

A line up of 24 boats from 4 nations (Denmark, Sweden, Finland and Estonia) will make it interesting. Full entry list HERE. The defending Nordic Champion NOR 554 helmed by Peder Jahre will not be competing. The challenging winds of the bay of Tallinn will give no mercy to anyone, especially if the weather forecast will be under 10 knots...

We´ll make things easy to all you not attending - for the first time in a International Melges 24 race all boats and marks will be sending out a LIVE GPS signal. This will be preparation for the 2010 Melges 24 Worlds. The Live GPS tracking service is supplied by Sailingregister.com

All boats, marks and the committee boat will be equipped with GPS trackers that will update boat and mark locations to the internet site every ten seconds. Melges 24 afficiados all over the world are able to join in and follow the racin as it happens. On the water commentators will send comments throughout the event. The race will be commentated also at the harbours restaurant terrace.
