Fleet Allocations Confirmed for Round Robins
The fleet allocations have been announced for the round robins at the Melges 24 World Championships in Hyeres and right now the teams are sailing out to the race courses ready to begin racing at noon. We have a nice force four blowing from the North West, the sun is shining and we're all set for a great first day.
Last night the teams took part in the official opening ceremony where each team was presented and the club and regional officials welcomed the sailors followed by a drinks party.
I am pleased to report that UK Class Secretary Karon Mahy made it back from the hospital yesterday afternoon with her big toe in a big bandage and last night was taking the traditional British solution to everything (large Gin and Tonics) to numb the pain. She has gone afloat this morning with her foot well protected and with strict instructions to her crew that anyone standing on her foot will be shot!
