EURO-VOILES WINS NORTH SAILS GOLD CUP

From the UK Class - The third and final of the North Sails Gold Cup dawned with not a breath of wind at 0900 hours but gradually the wind filled in and the first race of the day got away at 1042 hours. After 2 rounds Sogeti finished first with Xcellent second and Euro-voiles third. The wind then started to go around with the sun and after waiting for it to settle the second race got away at 1251 hours. The sea breeze kicked in and an excellent race was sailed which most of the competitors thought was one of the best in the series. Euro-Voiles finished first with Xcellent second and Sogeti third. Unfortunately the time limit on the last day did not permit the last race so the overall results were taken on 8 races.

The overall positions were as follows:-

1st - Winner of the North Sails Gold Cup – Euro-voiles 17 points.
2nd – Sogeti – 18 points
3rd Xcellent – 21 points
4th Easy Tiger – 31 points
5th WKD Red – 33 points
6th Team Panasonic – 39 points.
