Double Attack From The Finnish Class At Helsinki Boat Show
As part of the Finnish class campaign to aggressively increase ownership and attract new boat and sailors, the Finnish / Estonian class are at the present moment taking a stand at the Helsinki International Boat Show (11-19 February 2006) to present the Melges 24 and the Class Association. On the class association stand there is the Lainisalo Yachting Team´s boat FIN 316 on display and members of the Finnish Class will be on hand to answer questions and hope to receive good feedback from the visitors. In addition to the boat on the the Finnish Class stand Tomi Hakola´s Team Pohjola-Fonecta Finder (FIN 573) is on display on the stand of their main sponsors, Pohjola. Pohjola is a financially strong Finnish non-life insurance company. Pohjola is a subsidiary of OKO Bank and part of the OP Bank Group.
At the present moment the Finnish / Estonian class consist of 18 boats. The upcoming season will be extraordinary - two European ranking events will be held in these two countries. The Nordic Championship in late July in Mariehamn and the Estonian Championship in late September in Tallinn!
