Dinard to Host Melges 24 French Nationals

The French Melges 24 National Championship is returning to DINARD after the very successful and memorable Championship there in September 1999

Dinard is the place where the French fleet was born in December 1996 with the delivery of the first 3 Melges 24s - among them ZIG ZAG 13. It is also the home port of Henri Samuel who promoted the class to a successful record of over 90 boats being part of the French Class association in 2000

Nowadays Dinard is the home port of one of the few fleets in France that enjoys regular week-end racing activity (even at this time of year!) with 8 boats currently registered in Dinard and the hope to grow the fleet during this spring season

All of this has been a good reason for the French Class association to decide to organize the 2007 French National in Dinard during the WHITSUN week-end from May 25-28.

The organisation is well underway and at least 30 participants minimum are expected. The French Fleet would very much like the crews competing on the international circuit to keep this date on their travelling agenda as the best French boats will definitely be competing for the title.

Besides the usual French welcome and social activities, Henri Samuel will also invite everyone to join him for a a very special welcome party details of which will be available at registration.
