Campione Regatta in 2015 Melges 24 European Sailing Series Cancelled And Replaced
Last week the International Melges 24 Class Association (IM24CA) got the unexpected news that Yacht Club Como has cancelled CAMPIONE regatta on June 12-14 due to some unforeseen reasons. This regatta was supposed to be the 4th event for the Melges 24 European Sailing Series 2015.
IM24CA’s Executive Committee received two proposals to replace cancelled event in the series: from Italian Melges 24 Class with the Melges 24 Italian Open Championship in Trapani on September 10-13 and from Swiss Melges 24 Class with the Melges 24 Swiss Open Championship in Luino on October 8-11. IM24CA’s Executive Committee voted in favour of the Melges 24 Swiss Open Championship.
The 6th and final event of the Melges 24 European Sailing Series - Melges 24 Swiss Open Championship / Coppa Lino Favini - will be hosted by Flavio Favini and A.V.A.V. Luino (Associazione Velica Alto Verbano http://www.avav.it/ ). The event "Coppa Lino Favini" is very well known for its friendly hosting and great social program for the competitors. Everybody who has once been there once would agree. IM24CA apologizes for the inconveniences changing the schedule of the events in the Melges 24 European Sailing Series but is excited to explore another venue in Switzerland instead Lugano.
