BLACK SEAL WINS AGAIN IN HYERES

French Class Secretary Magali Jousselin reports from Hyères. There were 24 entries for the regatta Novembre à Hyères: one british, one Swedish, one from the Netherlands, two from Switzerland and finally, four from Italy! All the others were french crews, especially mediterranean teams and one from Britanny: POKEMON with the well known Bruno Jourdren.

The sun shone throughout the 3 days, we were like in the middle of the summer (well, almost)! The wind was not really strong enough on day one (between 5 to 10 knots with a lot of shifts), too strong on day two (20 to 25 knots with squalls of 30) and just perfect on day 3 (15 to 20 knots). As Nigel Young said about day 3: "It was a Black Seal day!"

In second position: A crew from Hyères: EUROVOILES (owner: Denis Infantes - organizer of this regatta helmsman: Jacques Di Russo)

Third position: an other Mediterranean crew from Marseille, SNUGASABUG, owned by Dimitri Nicolopoulos and helmed by Sylvain Mizzi.

Everybody seemed to enjoy themselves and the atmosphere was very friendly in ground as in sea. Next Melges 24 meeting in Hyères: French Nationals end of August 2003.
