Big Ship Wins Novembre A Heres

From the French Class. The last French Melges 24 2006 regatta and the final event in the European Ranking took place this past weekend with the Novembre a Hyeres Regatta. If only 19 boats were on the starting line the level was very good. The 2006 World Champions aboard Bette helmed by Nicola Celon and Partner-Partner with François Brenac were present, ready to prove their supremacy on the European ranking. The regatta started with two days of no more than 10 knots. The race committe gave us 3 nice races won successively by Encore (Jean Francois Cruette), Marseille–Big ship-Quantum (Maxime Paul) and Bette. The end of the regatta was windier. Tuesday we sailed 3 races in an eastern wind decreasing from 23 knots to 12 knots. The first race was won by Euro Voiles (Denis Infante), but the two last were for Maxime Paul and his crew. On Wednesday the wind came up to than 30 knots prohibiting racing. Winning this regatta, Maxime confirmed his good result on the worlds.
