Battle Rhythm for Charleston
18 April 2015 - Charleston, SC - The Melges 24 Class enjoyed three races on Friday to commence their division at Sperry Charleston Race Week. Under overcast skies and racing conditions, a light breeze the fluctuated in velcoity carried them through the day. There was an attempt at a fourth heat, however as early forecasts had predicted the breeze seemed to vanish in seconds as the day lingered on resulting in an abandoned race.
Guy Mossman's Battle Rhythm won the day submitting a 2-1-3 finish for the day to award him the overall lead. Brent McKenzie's Ex-Kahn was next in the procession of a good day on the water to land in second position, followed by defending Charleston Champ Bruce Ayres on Monsoon.
In the Corinthian Division, Dan McGraw's Blue Steel leads with International Class President Jens Wathne on Party Girl in second, and reigning US National Corinthian Champs Kevin Nixon and his ACCRU+ Melges 24 complete the podium for now.
