ALPINE DREAM TEAM JOIN MELGES 24 FLEET

From the Norgwegian Class - Kjetil Andre Aamodt and Lasse Kjus have each purchased a Melges 24. "The Dream Team" from the international alpine circus will retire after the Olympics in Torino. Between them they have 12 Olympic and 23 World Champion titles. Saturday 11th of February they will race maybe one of their last races at this level and there are eager to take home one more medal. The event is Giant-Slalom in Torino.

By late February their newly purchased Melges 24 will be transported to Norway. Their new campaign will start this summer and they have big plans for winning the first event which is the Musto Ski & Yachting in April. Lasse purchased his boat from Henri Samuel in France and Kjetil from Tim Jones in the UK. Both Tim and Henri have been most helpful and patient when we know that our heroes have been busy preparing for the Torino Olympics the whole winter.

Thomas Oksmo from Quantum Sails in Norway has a tight relationship with Lasse Kjus and it is expected that there will be an introduction of Quantum Sails in the Norwegian Melges Class this season.

We know for sure that there are many professional sailors that are willingly will join their pool of crew. Lasse and Kjetil are highly competitive and they will have the time and resources to climb in the class quickly during their first year.

- "My main goal is to beat Lasse in each race!" says Kjetil Andre Aamodt in an article printed in Norway’s largest newspaper Aftenposten

We would like to cross all fingers for their Olympic success on Saturday and looking forward to sail with both Lasse and Kjetil.
