2008 Sperry Top-Sider St. Petersburg NOOD - Very Important Competitor Information

The Sperry Top-Sider St. Petersburg NOOD is set to be another participation record-breaker for the U.S. Melges 24 Class Association. In addition to being the largest class in attendance, the Melges 24 will boast a 40-45+ fleet in St. Petersburg, Florida 15-17 February. In 2005, this event produced the highest number ever with 47, 2008 will attempt to match or break that record.

Prior to registration please check in with Joy Dunigan, Class Communications Director. Weigh-in will be required as well as Corinthian Declaration forms will be accepted. Other items and details are listed below:

CLASS MEMBERSHIP
If you have not already done so, please make sure that your 2008 Class Membership is up-to-date. All competitors competing in St. Petersburg must have a valid class membership with their corresponding National Class Authority. This will be checked at the time of registration.

MELGES 24 CLASS WEIGH-IN
The official Melges 24 Class weigh-in will take place all day Thursday, 14 February beginning at 9:00 a.m. until - at the St. Petersburg Yacht Club. Please look for signage within the club directing you to the weigh-in area. At this time, weigh-in is slated to be in the conference room, upstairs. Everyone is strongly encouraged to weigh-in prior to registration. Weigh-in will continue on Friday, 15 February by appointment prior to racing. THE ULTIMATE MELGES 24 CORINTHIAN CHALLENGE Once again the class will celebrate the Melges 24 Corinthian competition in St. Petersburg. If your team qualifies, be sure to fill out a 2008 CORINTHIAN DECLARATION FORM. This form can be faxed in advance to USMCA Press Officer and Class Communications Director Joy Dunigan at +1 (912) 756-6728 or, may be submitted at the time of weigh-in.

MELGES 24 CLASS RULES UPDATES & CHANGES
ISAF has published the official 2008 Melges 24 rule changes. These changes were effective 1st January 2008 so go download your new 2008 MELGES 24 RULE BOOK now.

STILL ON THE FENCE ABOUT ST. PETE'S
This is such an easy-going event so, don't miss out on what will be one of the biggest and brightest events for the Melges 24 Class in the USA. Come and join the fleet for three days of great fun and fantastic racing! Race documents are now available for this event. Please get your entry in early and plan on some awesome racing on Tampa Bay!
